Jessica is the Head of The Sustainability Group at Loring, Wolcott and Coolidge, a private trust and investment management company. Founded by Amy Domini, a pioneer of socially responsible investing, The Sustainability Group focuses on environmental, social and governance (ESG)-integrated investment, shareholder advocacy, and community finance – all in pursuit of universal human dignity and ecological sustainability. Through its impact investing portfolio, Jessica works with a broad network of Community Development Finance Institutions (CDFIs), many operating in Southern Africa, which enhance access to finance, enable small-scale growth and build thriving local economies.
Prior to The Sustainability Group, Jessica led the Social Impact practice at Applied Value, a boutique firm combining management consulting, investment and social responsibility. She also worked closely with Hand in Hand International, a non-profit fighting poverty through job and business creation, and previously spent five years in business strategy and operations in New York City. Her career began at Genesis Analytics, Africa’s largest economics consultancy, where she focused on market-based solutions to poverty across the continent, with particular emphasis on financial education and youth unemployment.
Jessica also currently serves as President of the Board of Directors for South Africa Partners, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the development of partnerships between the United States and South Africa in the areas of health, education, and economic development. Jessica holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Columbia University, Bachelor’s and Honour’s degrees in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from the University of Cape Town, and a CFA Institute Certificate in ESG Investing.
