I invite you to join me on Shared Interest's eighth bi-annual delegation to South Africa, between
August 12 and August 21, 2016. A truly unforgettable experience, our small group tour takes you behind-the-scenes to discover South Africa's history, culture and people.
2016 Delegation Highlights
This delegation will provide your opportunity to visit people, organizations and communities that have benefited from Shared Interest's guarantees, and to explore South Africa's challenges and strategies for transforming rural communities. Far off the tourist route, we will meet with thought leaders, participate in cultural events, visit historic sites, hear personal stories and learn how the next generation of South Africans is advancing their country's transformation. Our itinerary will include Johannesburg, Capetown, Durban, and the Eastern and Western Capes.
Also, the delegation will visit Shared Interest beneficiaries, including a grape and citrus cooperative in the Western Cape, traditional community economic development projects in the Eastern Cape and other small businesses that are making a significant difference in the lives of economically excluded South Africans. For those interested, we will also have an extended two-day trip to Mozambique (August 21 to 23), visiting a microfinance institution, a sugar cane project and start-up factory.
The trip will cost $4,000 per person (double occupancy) or $4,500 (single occupancy), including accommodation, air and ground travel and two meals per day in South Africa. The optional Mozambique leg will cost approximately an additional $1,000. Travel to and from South Africa not included, as delegates will book their own tickets.
